So many stories to choose from, but I think a great example is Dan - our Assistant Digital Learning Developer.
Having previously worked in First Central's Customer and Operations pillar, Dan moved into the Learning and Development (L&D) Team a couple of years ago on a short term secondment. However, he soon proved himself to be a valuable asset to the team and the role was made permanent. Fast forward a year and Dan successfully applied for his current role of Assistant Digital Learning Developer, helping to create and refresh First Central's ever-expanding bank of digital learning!
When we learnt that a new Digital Learning Designer Apprenticeship had been released just a few months before, it seemed a perfect fit and we didn't hesitate in sourcing a provider and getting Dan signed up. He is now 10 months into his Apprenticeship and is absolutely smashing it, and the new knowledge and skills he's able to apply in his role are of benefit not just to Dan but to the rest of his team as well.
To quote Dan ... ' Just because you’re good at what you do, doesn’t mean you can’t be great at something else. I spent 10 years in customer services because it was what I was good at, but the digital stuff I’m even better at. I didn’t just get a new job, I got a career!'
