When I began my career at first central (12 years ago), it was a very different company, it was a new start up. I worked in the claims department, it was fast paced and demanding. I can definitely say I enhanced my resilience skills working in that environment. Since joining L&D I am fortunate enough to support the development of other people as well as myself. I have an endless list of soft skills I have developed and continue to develop. Only yesterday I was delivery a training session to managers on self-awareness and emotional intelligence. For me this is a fundamental skill for any leader to develop. I recognise the increase in my own level of emotional intelligence over the past 5 years.
