My toughest challenge is suggesting change that isn't always fully understood. I just make sure I plan my feedback with data and evidence to back up the message I am delivering. You can make a story of events showing what has happened, what should have happened and the data to back it up. This structure backs up your message and makes it easier to understand. Preparation is key.
Keeping up to date with how you prefer to learn, understanding what motivates you to take time out of your busy days to develop your career and also understanding new learning trends and how we can use them (like TikTok!), keeps me on my toes! Talking regularly with my stakeholders and my colleagues, hearing from them directly as to what supports them to self direct their learning, as well as researching whats trending, helps me think about whats next for developing individuals at First Central. At the moment we are working with leaders across the business to support career conversations so we can start thinking about next steps to support development.
